About the role
The Investment Analyst position at Allister Team supports the development and implementation of investment portfolios for our client families. You will contribute to portfolio analysis, manager research, and the ongoing monitoring of allocations, with exposure to both public and private markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update portfolio analytics, including exposures, risk markers, liquidity profiles, and performance against relevant benchmarks.
- Assist in preparing materials for investment reviews and client meetings, including written commentary and supporting exhibits.
- Support the evaluation and ongoing monitoring of external managers and strategies, including data gathering and documentation.
- Contribute to research on asset classes, themes, and specific investment ideas, with emphasis on fit, liquidity, and tax awareness.
- Help document and track investment committee decisions and follow-up items.
- Work with colleagues to ensure implementation aligns with investment policy and client constraints.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in finance, commerce, economics, engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline.
- 2–4 years of experience in an investment, research, or analytical role (such as asset management, wealth management, pension, consulting, capital markets).
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel; experience with portfolio analytics tools is an asset.
- Clear written and verbal communication; able to summarize analysis in straightforward language.
- Demonstrated care with data, documentation, and follow-through.
- Progress toward a professional designation such as CFA or CIM is considered an asset.
- Fluency in English; working French is an advantage.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary: CAD 75,000–95,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
